There was cause for double celebration in the household of Sir. G. E. Kifordu as his children and grand children celebrated his 80th birthday and 50th wedding anniversary amidst pomp and pageantry.DSC_2358 SIR G. E. KIFORDU MARKS DOUBLE CELEBRATION
The double celebration kick started with a thanksgiving mass at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, DDPA, where friends, loved ones, wishers joined the celebrants to give thanks to God, and ended at Becca event center for a reception hosted by the celebrants’ children.
Eulogizing the couple for attaining a milestone in their marriage, the Chairman of the event Mr. Noble J. Ojobu termed the celebrants celebrities and exemplary couple loved by all.
Congratulating Sir Kifordu on his 80th birthday, Mr. Ojobu said the Octogenarian is an epitome of evangelization, and a man who has paid his dues, hence the worthy celebration and rolling out of red carpets by his children, pouring eulogy on the couple. Lately, Pat Sam-Dede said the couple is Ezinna and Ezinne per excellence, while also describing Lady Kifordu as a woman full of passion and love for God. The event was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life. Lady Kifordu speaking with pressmen expressed her happiness at attaining 50 years of marriage saying that the journey she started years ago like a little river has grown into a mighty ocean. She expressed her gratitude to God, and wished her husband many happy returns.
Speaking on his part, Sir Kifordu expressed happiness and gratitude to God whom he said has led him this far. In his message to young couples, he said, marriage though good and easy has rough edges which can be surmounted by personal decisions. Dr. Anthony Kifordu one of the Children of the celebrants said it is a unique feast to clock 50 years in marriage and 80 years of age, hence they chose to celebrate their parents. He said they were trained and brought up in the Catholic Faith by their parents, adding that such trainings have brought them to the heights they have attained.DSC_2358 SIR G. E. He wished his parents many more years of celebrations ahead. The high points of the celebration were the cutting of cake and special performance by the grand children of the celebrants and others present.
