The residents of Owa-Alizomor Community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, have called on Ika North East Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Godwin Ogadi, to reinstate their son, Comrade Alfred Idehen as the rightful PDP co-ordinator in the local government.
The Community Members, who passed a vote of confidence on their son, describing him as a true son of the soil, charged the party leader to bring him back as PDP youth Co-ordinator.
Some of the community members, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the peaceful protest that lasted for about an hour, include: Mrs. Helen Nathaniel, Mr. Clifford John, Mr. Ikechukwu Otu and Mrs. Pat Arimobi. In their separate remarks, the concerned residents noted that they are not happy with the way and manner their brother and son, Comrade Alfred Idehen was removed as PDP youth Co-ordinator by Chief Godwin Ogadi, saying that ever since Governor Okowa assumed office as the Executive Governor of Delta State, no indigene of the community has been recognized in terms of appointment, either as Special Assistant to his office or Commissioner.
They frowned at the fact that the community has been marginalized, saying that members of the community have not complained about it, but all they have been doing was to keep supporting the Governor since no one knows when it will be better, yet the Chairman of PDP, Chief Godwin Ogadi, went ahead to remove the only person they have as a youth leader and appointed another person to take his position.
According to them “we are calling on Chief Ogadi and all those who planned with him to remove our rightful leader from his position to as a matter of urgency withdraw their decision by bringing him back as the youth co-ordinator, because we cannot be laboring for others to harvest. We love him, he loves us. He is our son and brother who has always shared ideas with us, carrying us along and bringing development to our community in his own little way.
“Our amiable Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is our father. We are solidly behind him and everyone he projects as candidate in any election so far as PDP is concerned, as a party where the Governor belongs to. We are not against him, but all we are asking for, is that he should call Chief Godwin Ogadi and all PDP leaders in Ika North East to order so that our brother and son, Alfred Idehen can come back to his position.
