With barely two weeks to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Primary election, for aspirants vying for the Delta State House of Assembly, Ika South Constituency ticket, Hon. Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, has purchased his nomination form for the race.
Hon. Okoh, fondly referred to as Chuky Dandy and the pride of the youth, is the incumbent member representing Ika South Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly Asaba, some weeks ago formally declared his intention to run for a second time in order to complete his developmental agenda for members of his constituency.
With the purchase of the nomination form and expression of interest, it is clear that the lawmaker is fully set for the screening of aspirants at their primary election, scheduled for Saturday September 15, 2018.
In a telephone chat with the lawmaker, he confirmed emphatically that he has collected his nomination form from the Peoples Democratic Party Secretariat at Asaba, the Delta State Capital, which he hopes to submit back to the party Secretariat on Friday August 31, 2018 after filling the form; and then wait for the day of screening and the primary election.
Continuing, he urged all contestants for the House of Assembly position to join hands with whoever wins at the primary election for the betterment of the people and for the development of Ika south as a constituency.
In his words, “If I win, I ask them to join hands with me and campaign for the February 2019 election, and if they defeat me, I will join them to not only campaign, but will also assist them physically, morally and financially, because we all are brothers”, emphasizing that it is not a do or die affair, saying that they (the aspirants) do not have to kill themselves over the election, but to have the spirit of sportsmanship to embrace whoever emerges as the winner and forge ahead as members of one united PDP family.
