ABAVO YOUTHS ENDORSE PAUL ALIKA

As the race for the seat of Member, Ika South Constituency at Delta State House of Assembly come 2019 heats up, the youths of Abavo Kingdom under the aegis of Awu Rimma Youths have pledged their unwavering support to House of Assembly hopeful, Amb. Paul Alika.

They made this pledge during a courtesy visit to the Agbor residence of Amb. Paul Alika recently, stating that Amb. Alika possesses the will and charisma to improve the lot of Ika South youths through robust and effective representation.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Abavo Youths President, Comr Irabor Nelson said that they have keenly observed the outstanding antecedents of Amb. Paul Alika in the areas of philanthropy and empowerment of youths and therefore wish to support his bid to represent the Local Government at DTHA come 2019, believing he would replicate these traits and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people and youths of Ika South.

He further he stated that the time has come for the youths to take their destinies in their hands by running for and occupying public office, as only a youth can understand the plight and yearnings of his fellow youths and effectively address them as such. He however called on Ika South youths to fully participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter’s Registration exercise, stating that the Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC is the only tool with which youths can have their way in ensuring that they vote in the right candidates who will effect positive change in the LGA.

Also speaking, the PRO of Abavo Youths, Comr. Miracle  Okoh reiterated the resolve of Abavo Youths to support the noble course of Paul Alika as he described him as a man who has the interest of his people, especially the youth at heart. He called on all youths of Ika South to rally round Alika as he would definitely put smiles on the faces of Ika South people.

Responding, Amb Paul Alika appreciated them for the timely visit and for their commitment and support towards his aspiration. He noted that the time is now for youths to take over the mantle of leadership at all levels, as he promised to always champion the course of the youth in Ika South through useful empowerment and inclusive style of governance and urged them to continue to support governor Okowa’s led administration and key into his Youth Empowerment programmes.

He charged all eligible voters in Ika South to go and get registered in order for them to acquire the power to determine who leads them during elections. Also present at the meeting were Ifeanyi Odima (Aluwe), Youth leader ward 7, Romanus Idegbekwu (Chief O), Hon. Chuks Waki among others.
