AGBOMA, IDION, PETERSON TAKE JAB OF COVID-19 VACCINE

The Deputy Chairman, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Patience Agboma in company of the Executive Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Rtn. Peter Idion on Wednesday March 17, 2021 received first jab of covid-19 vaccine at Model Health Centre Agbor.

The deputy Chairman speaking to our correspondent shortly after taking the vaccine, called all residents of Ika South to a avail themselves for the vaccination, which she said is against COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining that COVID-19 is real.

Hon. Mrs. Agboma noted that the vaccine is to be administered for people from the ages of 16 and above, adding that it is also for persons with severe allergies reaction, stressing that it is safe and effective for people with various conditions that are associated with increase of severe diseases.

While appreciating the President of Task Force on COVID-19 for ensuring the availability of the vaccine, she urged all to cease the moment and make use of the golden opportunity provide by the government to ensure that COVID-19 pandemic is history.

In a separate development, the President/Founder of D-Peterson, Dr. Donald Peterson yesterday, publicly took the Covid-19 vaccine at the Agbor Obi Primary Health Care Centre with a charge to all his fans to follow suit in order to halt the spread of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 vaccine is a vaccine intended to provide acquired immunity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus causing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Dr. Peterson, speaking to pressmen at the Health Centre before he took the jab, he said, “You guys are very much aware of how this COVID -19 pandemic disrupted the world order since early 2020 and even till now some countries are still on partial lockdown.

“I am not going to remind us of the countless deaths that were recorded on account of it or how our daily activities were affected, so it gives me so much joy when it was announced by World Health Organization (WHO) that a vaccine to cure this COVID-19 pandemic has been found. So, here we are in my native community of Ime-Obi about to take the vaccine”

He continued, “What more can I say than to thank the Delta State Government for making the distributions of this vaccines to get to every nooks and cranny of the State and most importantly to encourage everyone of us to take this vaccine so as to halt the spread of this pandemic”

“The benefits of taking these vaccines are enormous as we will be healthier, immune from the virus and above all our lives will get back to normal,” he concluded.
