Members of the Agbor Medical Zone Staff Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society Limited recently held their first Biennial general meeting.
The Biennial Meeting which featured activities like the presentation of the association’s management committee report by the secretary, Mr. James Onyibe reading of 2016/2017 account, acceptance and discussion of management committee report by Mr. E. Agha (CCI Agbor) and election of new committee members, took place at the premises of the Central Hospital, Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State.
Speaking in an address, the president, Agbor Medical Zone Staff Multi-Purpose Co-Operative Society, Mr. Ogboi Lawrence E., thanked God for his grace and mercy upon the life of every member of the association. He appreciated all members of the co-operative such as the Zonal Director, Dr. P. N Okolie, Mr. Chuks Iwegbu, the zonal hospital administrator whom he said their contributions at the formative stage of the co-operative society can never be set aside.
Speaking further, he noted that the co-operative society was formed two years ago and that it has been duly registered. He stressed that the co-operative society started as a mere thrift saving meeting under his leadership, and later transformed to become what it is today.
Highlighting the challenges of the co-operative society the President disclosed that the banks they bank with: Zenith Bank Plc and First Bank are not friendly in their banking system, adding that most of their banking procedures created set back to their smooth operations. He promised that in no distant time, he and his committee members will proffer solutions to those challenges by the special grace of God. He concluded by encouraging all members particularly those elected alongside himself, to remain faithful, dilligent and committed and above all to carry everybody along so that the Co-operative Society will continue to climb to greater heights.
The newly elected committee members include; the President, Mr. Lawrence E. Ogboi, Mr. Fredrick Isibor (vice president), Mr. James Onyibe (Secretary), Mrs. Vivian Eborka, (Treasurer), Mr. Okafor Sokoto (member), Mr. Theophilus Ehije (member) and Ochei Ejime.
