The Delta North Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Doris Uboh has escaped death, alleging that assassins attempted to assassinate her at about 2:30 am, on Monday March 11, 2019 at her residence in Agbor.
Speaking during a press briefing at her residence, Hon. Doris Uboh said that she was sleeping in her bedroom when she started hearing some loud voices in her compound as the intruders had already succeeded in gaining entrance into her premises through the fence.
In her words, “I was sleeping in my bedroom when the assassins came in at about 2:30 am on Monday, March 11, 2019. I thank God that I was able to wake up to see what was making the noise in the compound. They were assassins, fully armed with different sophisticated ammunition. I immediately contacted my boy not to challenge them, rather, he should find a way to escape from his bedroom to the boys’ quarters, joining them.
While they were trying to pull the door and windows so as to gain access to my bedroom, God intervened; they did not succeed, so they left.”
Continuing, she said, “The whole problem started during the just concluded general elections. In my ward; Ekuku-Agbor community Ward 5, there were a lot of PDP agents at the election ground. I discovered that in my own unit, unit six, there were a lot of rigging and vote buying, which the security agents were also aware of. Then I insisted on the cancellation of the unit. I had to contact the Police who came and started carrying out investigations. After the investigation, the Police was able to discover that there was rigging and other election mal-practices in the unit and the ward entirely.
“I had a lot of challenges on my way from Ekuku-Agbor to my residence in Agbor that fateful day of the election. Since 2007, I have been contesting for elective positions and since that time I have never experiencedwhat happened to me on Monday at about 2:30 am.
“I have contacted the Commissioner of Police, Agbor DPO, the Area Commander and other security operatives in the State and at national level to help investigate the issue properly. I still want to say it clearly, that whatever happens to me or my family, PDP Leaders in the Ika North East should be held responsible,” she concluded.
