The All Progressives Congress Chairman in Ika North East, Hon. Sunny Onyejose has said that his party, the APC is ready and prepared to take over governance of Delta State in 2019.
This statement was made during a meeting with all ward chairmen of the party in Ika North East Local Government Area recently. The Chairman while addressing his Ward Chairmen who came to felicitate with him over the twelve months elongation of his tenure as the party chairman in the local government area, urged the party faithful across the local government to remain committed to the party’s affairs.
Hon. Onyejose who was elated by the presence of the ward chairmen thanked them for their efforts in uniting the party at the respective wards. He enjoined them to be active so as to ensure that APC gets her desired victory in 2019.
“I want to say categorically that Ika North East is upholding the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party which extended the tenure of the National Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun for twelve months with effect from June, 2018. This decision of the NWC as announced by Kogi State Governor is extended to the states, Local government and ward executives. All members of this party in Ika North East are to comply with the decision of the party.
As ward chairmen, you are the rallying point of the party and this should make you put in more efforts at canvassing for the party ahead of the 2019 general elections as we are set to capture Government House in 2019” He said.
He further enjoined all members of the party who have the intention of vying for elective positions to work with the existing structure of the party as he noted that a house divided against itself cannot stand.
He used the medium to appreciate the efforts of the President Muhammadu Buhari, the leader of the party in the state, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Prophet Jones Orue, the State Chairman and other chieftains of the party in the state. He prayed for the speedy release of the Dapchi girls who were abducted recently.
In his response, the Chairman of all ward chairmen in Ika North East, Mr. Samuel Aselue promised that the ward chairmen will put in their best in ensuring the party gets its victory in 2019.
