ATLANTA HOSTS AGBORUSA 2023 CONVENTION
*Committee To Document The Accurate History Of Agbor Kingdom To Be Inaugurated, Says Dein Of Agbor
On Friday September 15, 2023, AgborUSA members from all over the world arrived at Comfort Inn Hotel in Atlanta to meet one another for the 2023 convention. We have members from Austria, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada, United States and Nigeria. Welfare committee chair Mrs. Florence Kaliku Jallah welcomed over sixty members that evening on behalf of the president who was having a closed-door meeting with the King of Agbor kingdom. Chief Edwin Kaliku requested for prayers for our members who were unable to come to the event. Food and drinks were served with light music.
On Saturday morning, members were moved to Holiday Inn for the early morning meeting. The meeting was declared open by the President of AgborUSA; Chief Patrick Ogbomoh. The issue of the constitution was discussed and amendments were made. Members benefit was also increased. The constitution committee was led by Elder George Weweh, Chief Edwin Kaliku, Dr. Mrs. Helen Solomon and Engr, Peter Anumele. The hall was filled to capacity as members from all over the world including the Special Guest of Honour, General Lucky Irabor (RTD) and the Deputy Majority Leader of Delta House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Okoh were in attendance.

Chief Edwin Kaliku raised the issue of Delta State University and the ACU PG Chief Larry Onyeche responded that not all things can be discussed publicly and that progress has been made and the Dein is aware of the progress. Even extra land has been acquired from Oki town to make it work.
Thereafter, there was the arrival of Dein of Agbor Kingdom. Prof. Patrick Idoye gave a brief History of Agbor Kingdom. His Majesty made some corrections and commended him for his presentation, saying that a committee will be inaugurated in future to document the accurate history of Agbor Kingdom.
Among the many issues discussed was Ekuku-Agbor, which Dein gave satisfactory explanations and all were pleased. Lunch was served and the day time session was concluded a few hours after the departure of the majesty.
The Gala night started at about 8pm with fun fair. Our Royal Majesty, Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi 1 King of Agbor Kingdom gave a spectacular speech and every one hailed his comments with an outstanding ovation. The fund raising was launched by Mr. Bernard Agholor who is also building a hospital in Alihagu. Our Dein was given an award by South Carolina House of Assembly. The President of Agbor USA through His Royal Majesty gave awards to Engr. Peter Anumele, Elder George Weweh, Chief Edwin Kaliku, Prof. Patrick Idoye, Gen. Lucky Irabor and Mr. Sunny Echegile who was the chairman of the gala night event.
The convention committee members led by Sir Alex Omeke Chairman, Mrs. Florence K Jallah, Vice Chair, Mr. Felix Agholor, Mr. Francis Oruebor our able and powerful PRO and Mr. Onyekachi Iseh; the Welfare committee led by Mrs. Florence K Jallah, Mr. Festus Irabor, Lady Christy Nwaokoro, Mrs. Christie Ukoha, and Mr. Chuks Ogbomor were all commended including also the President of the group; Chief Patrick Ogbomoh and his wife Dr. Evelyn Ogbomoh who made the day excellent. Also commended for the success of the event were Masters of Ceremony Dr (Mrs.) Helen Solomon and Mr. Onyekachi.
The convention came to a close at the early hours of Sunday morning.
