Francis Ogini, has stated that the operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) invited him and he honoured the invitation over his alleged involvement in operation of a baby factory in Agbor.
Ogini made the clarification during an interview with newsmen on Monday, November 18, 2019 to deny media reports that he was arrested by the police.
His words, “I was invited by the Inspector-General (IG) of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), but that was over a month ago to respond to the allegation made by one Pa. Samuel Adagbon, who said some time ago that I directed someone to his house in Mbiri. As a law abiding citizen, I went to IG’s office in Abuja to respond to their call. And thereafter my explanation, I was allowed to go because I have no hand in the baby factory business as he (Adagbon) claimed. I think that is in line with their procedure, so it wasn’t a function of an arrest. I can also recall that during questions and answers as done by the Investigative Police Officer (I.P.O) in charge of the matter, photographs were taken and that was how my image appeared among the arrested suspects”.

Continuing, Ogini said, “The problem we have is the way sometimes things are publicized; allegation is not guilt, then of course the way is being expressed by the media. Sincerely, I do not know anything called baby factory”.
He concluded by stating that he was not detained by the police to be in police net, appealing to the media to always endeavoured to properly investigate issues before publishing.
