The Igbodo Divisional Police Officer in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, Superintendent Isaac Ogbodu has called on members of Anti Cult, Agbor Zonal Command to remain upright in the discharge of their duties. SEE ALSO: DISMISSED POLICE OFFICER NABBED FOR THEFT

He handed down the advice during the Anti cult Zonal meeting at Ekwuoma town hall, saying that the police will always give them the needed support in fighting crime.

He unequivocally disclosed that Anti Cult and vigilante remain the two stakeholders that have been partnering with the police in the fight against crime, urging them to avoid anything that might bring shame to the group. SP Ogbodu stated that as members of Anti-cult, they must remain discipline and desist from taking laws into their hands, urging them to always hand over to the police any criminal they apprehend.

He maintained that together with the police, they must protect the lives and properties of the people, adding that all hands must be on deck to ward off crime in the society.

Continuing, the DPO need for members of the group to remain humble in carrying out their task, saying that it is only with humility and closeness to the people that they can succeed in their job.

He advised them to welcome anybody with good intention to help fight crime, stressing that there is need for sufficient manpower.

While charging the group to embark on membership drive for effective neutralization of crime in their various divisions, the police boss admonished the zonal commandant, Mr. Uche Nwaghande to carry everyone along, as with unity and cooperation, they will do exploit. SP Ogbodu commended the group for their good work thus far, urging them not to be discouraged,  as soon, they will have reasons to rejoice.

Earlier, the zonal commandant, Mr. Uche Nwaghande in his opening speech thanked members for their response to the meeting, saying that he is indeed impressed with their turn out.  He stated that as the new zonal commandant, there is need to know the true members of the group, adding that they have been series of impersonation.

He noted that they must uphold the good name of Anti-Cult and as such, they must put an end to impersonation. He affirmed that they will visit all divisions that make up the zone (Umutu, Obiaruku, Agbor, Igbodo, Umunede, Abavo, and Owa) to ensure that the bad eggs (impersonators) are rooted out from the group.

Mr. Nwaghande noted that though anti cult job is voluntary, yet, they must carry it out with zeal and enthusiasm, adding that security work is for everyone. He enjoined members of the public to always inform them of any criminal activity in their areas as Anti-Cult is out to make life unbearable for criminals

On his part, the Commandant of Agbor Unit, Mr. Jude Enyaosa appreciated SP Isaac Ogbodu for his inspiring speech and advice. He noted that as law abiding citizens, they,  the Anti Cult will continue to do their best in fighting crime. He assured the police boss of the anti cult total support. Mr. Enyaosa urged members to remain committed and loyal to the leadership of the group, saying that together and with God on their side; they will vanquish evil and crime from their areas.
