The Director General of the Coalition for Peace and Unity, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing the good people of Ika Federal Constituency, Chief (Dr.) Cairo Ojougboh has joined his ancestors.
The sexagenarian was said to have passed away on the evening of Wednesday February 7, 2024, while watching the AFCON semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa.
Sources close to the politician revealed that the unfortunate incident occurred when a penalty was awarded against Nigeria and Dr. Ojougboh, the Akinuwa of Agbor Kingdom was said to have shouted and slumped due to massive heart attack when South Africa scored.
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident happened at the Abuja residence of the Alihame born politician.
The sudden demise of the former Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters to former President Goodluck Jonathan is said to be a huge loss to the entire family, Alihame, All Progressives Congress (APC), and Ika land in general.
The former governor of the state Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has also joined in expressing shock over the death of Dr. Cairo, describing him as a great politician of note and a strong voice from the Ika nation.
As of the time of filing this report, the family of the deceased has yet to issue any statement on the demise of their son, brother, husband, and father.
