DR. CHAMBERLAIN NNAMDI DUNKWU, THE BRAIN BEHIND THE BILL FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, UTE-OKPU
Few months ago, the Federal House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Abuja, witnessed a successful Second Reading of the Bill for the Establishment of Federal University of Agriculture, Ute-Okpu, (FUA, UTE-OKPU) Ika North East, Delta State. The Bill which was presented for Second Reading by Hon. Chief Dr. Philip Agbese from Benue State, undoubtedly ignited joyous expressions and inquisitivity to both Ikas and Deltans as they look forward to the success of other stages for the realization of its establishment.
To give response to such inquisitivity, Mr. Ewere Chibuzor, a Political Scientist and International Relations Expert who enjoys the influential capacity of Ute-Okpu and Ika born Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu at the National Assembly, pointed that the Bill for Establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Ute-Okpu, remains the mastermind of Dr. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu.
Mr. Ewere pointed that Dr. Chamberlain who worked as Senior Special Assistant to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who is currently the Chief of Staff to the President, is notable for his diligence, commitment, legislative experiences despite occupying appointive positions; and that, his enthusiasm for development saw his alignment with Hon. Chief Dr. Philip Agbese, an APC Rep. Member from Benue State amongst several Rep. Members to attain that.
It takes great understanding of the business of national legislation for a Bill of such magnitude to see the light of the day especially when your representative at the Green Chamber isn’t a member of your political party. Dr. Chamberlain Nnamdi understands this hence his intelligent move.
Currently the Deputy Chief of Staff on Legislative and Members’ Affairs to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, Dr. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu has emphasized the need for better development in Ika land, hence he is willing to do more in his capacity in line with the Renewed Hope mantra of His Excellency, the President.
When it scales through all stages, the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Ute-Okpu, will no doubt be a developmental plus to Ikas and Deltans; and will also translate into economic and structural boosts as indigenes and non indigenes would be poised to establish small scale businesses and dwelling structures (hostels) for rent.
