Chiedu Ebie Eulogizes Late Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, Condoles Family

Chairman, governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Barr. Chiedu Ebie has paid a glowing tribute to a prominent political figure, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Executive Director of the NDDC, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, who died a year ago.
Speaking during a memorial mass on Sunday the 9th day of February 2025 in Agbor, Delta State, to mark the first anniversary of his demise, Ebie described Ojougboh as a dedicated patriot, a bridge-builder, and a man whose contributions to the development of Delta State and Nigeria at large remain indelible.
He reflected on the life and legacies of Dr. Ojougboh, who passed away on February 7, 2024, emphasizing the late politician’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people and his relentless pursuit of justice and equity in the Niger Delta region.
“Dr. Cairo Ojougboh was not just a leader; he was a visionary who dedicated his life to the service of humanity. His passion for the development of the Niger Delta and his unyielding spirit in the face of challenges will forever remain an inspiration to us all,” Ebie stated.
The NDDC Board Chairman also highlighted Ojougboh’s role as a unifying figure in Delta State politics, noting his ability to foster harmony and collaboration across party lines.
“In a time when our political landscape was often fraught with division, Dr. Ojougboh stood out as a man who prioritized the collective good over personal or partisan interests. His legacy is a reminder of what true leadership should embody”, Ebie added
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Ojougboh family, urging them to take solace in the enduring legacy of their patriarch: “To the family, I say take heart. Your loss is our loss, but we are comforted by the fact that Dr. Ojougboh lived a life of purpose and left an indelible mark on our society. His memory will continue to inspire generations to come”, he said.
The event, attended by family members, friends, political associates, and community leaders, featured prayers, tributes, and reflections on Ojougboh’s impactful life.
