A 70-year old man and father of six children, popularly known as,” All-purpose”, who allegedly abused a seven-year-old girl has committed suicide.
When Ika Weekly Newspaper Reporter visited the residence of the deceased on Owa-Nta Old Abraka Road, Boji-Boji, Owa Delta State, he learned that the deceased who had a wife at home with six successful children abused a seven-year-old baby girl and, when the secret got exposed, he went ahead to pacify the parents of the child with the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira for the not to involve the Police and other appropriate authorities. To his greatest surprise, he was invited to appear before the High Court, Owa-Oyibu.
It was further gathered that a day to the court judgment, All-purpose, having known that he must not go free since the matter has gone to the court through the intervention of the Human Rights Activists, took a rope, went to the bush and committed suicide by hanging himself.
As at the time of filing this report, police officers from the Owa-Oyibu Police Division were already on ground to convey the corpse to the Mortuary.
