The prestigious College of Education, Agbor on Monday, September 3, 2018 presented twenty-six (26) departments to the accreditation team of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE).
Speaking, the Provost of the College, Dr. Joseph Onyisi Ukadike on behalf of the College of Education, Agbor community welcomed the NCCE accreditation team to the institution, thanking God Almighty for their safe trip. According to him, “accreditation exercise is a worthwhile routine practice which is aimed at inspecting the facilities and manpower available in schools of higher learning, including the Colleges of Education. In this vein, our College is presenting twenty-six departments for accreditation. We have therefore made deliberate and concerned efforts to prepare for the exercise. These are in both infrastructural and manpower capacities. It is our fervent hope and prayers that our efforts and preparedness will meet the NCCE accreditation requirements, and yield favourable dividends”.

The Provost disclosed that in compliance with NCCE directives, the institution hosted a team of experts from NCCE in a Sensitization Workshop on 2012 minimum standards and the use of Quality Assurance Toolkit with NCCE requirements for a successful accreditation of departments, saying that he found the workshop very rewarding.
He expressed thanks to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and members his administration for their supports towards the growth and development of the College. He concluded also by appreciating NCCE for her supervisory roles, which he said have led to the training and production of quality teachers in Colleges of Education nationwide.

Responding, NCCE accreditation team leader, Dr. Mchivga A. Abelega thanked the Dr. Ukadike for the hospitality and the efforts he and his team have put in for the growth of the institution. He pointed out that he is impressed to hear that the Delta State government is in full support of the college and lauded the Governor Okowa for his assistance. While commending the College of Education, Agbor for the quality of teachers produced over the years, he stated that NCCE is committed to give every Nigerian child the best education.
Dr. Abelega pointed out that accreditation exercise is to officially qualify an institution to do well in education, saying they will be fair and firm in accrediting the 26 departments presented by the College of Education, Agbor.
