The elder brother of the deceased and a retired Sergeant in the Nigerian Army, Mr. Amanwah Amaoro told newsmen that his late brother had gone for hunting with Mr. Deboy Okwuokenye, a fellow hunter on that fateful day he was shot dead. According to him, “we the bereaved family members are in a confused state over the strange death of Ifeme owing to the fact that he was shot dead. We received the sad news of his death through a phone call from an unknown caller and we got to the scene only to see our brother lying dead in a pull of his own blood close to his motorcycle. However, his gun was taken away. But what has remained a burden before us is the reason why he was shot dead. Ifeme we all know is a quiet, good and kindhearted man who is not troublesome. We are using this medium to appeal to the Nigerian Police in Igbanke to put in their best and fish out his killers”.
The deceased who hails from Ugbeka quarters, Mbiri is survived by wife and children. However, The Igbanke Police have detained Mr. Okwuokenye after he reported the matter in the station for further investigation, and pressmen were denied from speaking to him to hear his side of the story. Meanwhile, the remains of the Late Vincent Ifeme has been deposited at a nearby mortuary
