Another recently kidnapped victim who claimed anonymity has narrated his ordeal in the hands of his abductors, stating that it is not an experience he would wish anyone to pass through.

According to the kidnapped victim, “I passed through hell in the hands of my abductors who were Fulani herdsmen from their communication. I was abducted by the railway line along Benin/Asaba Expressway and trekked faraway distance to a thick forest in Edo State where I spent five days in their den.

“Sincerely, the kidnappers are so heartless that they do not care about life. Decomposing human bodies stinks in the kidnappers den. I am sure that as many of their victims who cannot withstand their harsh treatment have giving up the ghost. It is a land of the dead”, the victim claimed.

Continuing, he said kidnappers have returned to Ika land again and enjoined the people to be more security conscious.

The victim while stating that Ika people have long remained silence about the kidnapping in the area, appealed that everyone should be their brother’s keeper by questioning strange faces of people in the community, farmlands, bushes and quickly report to the community vigilante and the police for immediate action.

A relative of the victim who also claimed anonymity said he suspected that some of our people who are enemies of Ika nation have hands in the kidnapping, expressing disappointment that we are now living in fear in our own land.

He appealed to the Delta State Government under the leadership of our own brother and son, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to deploy more security agencies to comb through bushes in Ika nation and nearby Edo State communities. He said despite the presence of battalions of soldiers, the police and other supporting security agencies, insecurity in Ika nation is alarming.
