People’s Party (DPP) Delta North senatorial district, on Saturday September 29, 2018 held their first town hall meeting at Fair View Hotel, Agbor to deliberate on issues that will help the party to take over the leadership affairs of Delta State come 2019.
Welcoming the party faithful to the gathering, the chairman, Democratic People’s Party (DPP) in Ika South Local Government Area, Mr. Philip O.E. appreciated all who came from far and near particularly those who accompanied the party State Chairman, Mr. Ejiro Okpegwa, an Itsekiri born political leader to his constituency.
He encouraged all members of the party in Ika South Local Government in particular and Delta North Senatorial District in general, to remain faithful and committed to DPP activities, noting that being committed to the party’s affairs is one of the strategies that will help them achieve their goals of taking over the political leadership of Delta State.
Speaking further, the party Chairman, advised all Ika residents to support Mr. Richard Kimeku for Governorship in the forth coming general election, stressing that he is fully convinced that the Anioma born Governorship candidate will definitely transform Delta State with his four points Agenda. He promised the party leaders in the State of his 100 percent support and mobilization for Mr. Kimeku and others who will emerge as Senate, House of Representative and House of Assembly members of the party in the Delta North Senatorial District come 2019.
Speaking on behalf of the Governorship candidate, the state Chairman, Mr. Ejiro Okpegwa noted that Mr. Kimeku has promised to deliver the required dividends of democracy to Delta State if given the mandate to represent as the Executive Governor of Delta State come 2019. He added that the Governorship candidate also promised to pay at least 40 percent of nomination forms for any of the executive positions which any member of the party wants to contest for in the general elections.
The State Chairman said that DPP is the only political party that is capable of moving Delta State and its constituents to greater heights, urging all Deltans to queue behind Mr. Kimeku for Governorship so that oppression, intimidation and marginalization by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Leaders in the state will become a thing of the past.
