DELTA STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE VISITS AGBOR AREA COMMAND

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mustapha Mohammed (MNI) recently paid a familiarization tour to the Agbor Area Command of the Nigerian Police Force.

The Commissioner during the visit was taken round the stations by the Assistant Commissioner of Police and the Area Commander in charge of the Command ACP Chinyelu Ikejiani, in company of the Divisional Police officers and other top security personnel.

The visit had in attendance members of Agbor Community, members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), members of the Hausa and Igbo Communities, representatives of the market women, members of the Community Policing, leadership of Ika Landlord and Landladies, Traditional Rulers, Community Youths and elders, amongst many others.

The visit of the Commissioner gave him the opportunity to interact with the DPOs and other stakeholders who grace the occasion.

In a brief address at the ceremony, ACP Chinyelu Ikejiani, the Area Commander in charge of Agbor Area Command, while extolling the professional achievements of the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mustapha Mohammed noted that since he assumed office as the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, the Divisional Police officers within the Area Command has brought down the crime rate drastically, through their commitments to duty with the efforts of prayers and the contributions of the community policing which she stated was not by their powers but by the grace of God. Continuing, the Area Commander, disclosed that Agbor people are friendly and open to the police; she also noted that the police officers in Agbor Command are okay and the Divisional Police Officers are really hardworking, which has led to the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed by inhabitants within the metropolis and her environs.

She however frowned at the high rate of criminality and moral decadence that is being perpetuated by the youths; which are kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery, involvement in drugs and truancy. She also encouraged parents, traditional rulers, community leaders, school authorities, churches and mosques to be fully involved in advocacy campaigns in giving our children the right morals and values that will guide them in life.

ACP Ikejiani, appreciated the traditional rulers, whom she stated have been giving her maximum cooperation since she resumed duty at the Command. She gave glory to God as the first female Assistant Commissioner of Police and also the first Area Commander posted to Agbor Command.

In a brief address, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mustapha Mohammed appreciated all that came to welcome him and charged the masses of Agbor kingdom and her environs to give their maximum support to the Police in Agbor. He enjoined the Landlords and Landladies in Agbor to be very careful on those they rent their houses to in order not to harbor criminals, noting that parents have abandoned their duties in the proper upbringing of their children because of the quest for money and materialism.

Continuing, the Commissioner stated the need for indigenes to give maximum support to the police is of great importance to enable them protect the land effectively, saying that the public can give their support through constant and credible information.
