DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT WILL KEEP TO ITS PROMISE-Ezewu to Late Ufah’s widow

The Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Rose Ezewu, has reassured members of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, N.U.T and the immediate family members of the Alihame Mixed Secondary School Physics Teacher, Sunday Ufah, who died on the 18th of October, 2023, after an attack by a parent for disciplining his child, that the State Government will keep to its promise of granting scholarship to the children of the deceased.

The Commission made the assurance on Wednesday December, 5th 2023, during the service of songs irrespective of the deceased while in the company of the Permanent Secretary for Secondary Education, Augustine Oghoro, the Ika South Chief Inspector of Education, Mrs. Olushola Mary and other stakeholders in the education sector to pay their last respect to the deceased.

The service of songs which was organised by members of Church of God Mission where was a member was held at his residence, Boji-Boji, Owa, Ika North East Local Government Area of the state.

In his exhortation, one of the officiating ministers, Rev. Dr. F.S. Obasa, testified that late Sunday Ufah, was not only a teacher, but was also an advocate of good deed, encouraging the immediate family members to emulate his footsteps.

He charged all to live lives worth emulating, saying that where to spend eternity is determine by your relationship with people, pointing out that the deceased lived a good life, praying God to judge him mercifully.

In her tribute, the wife of late Ufah, Mrs. Christian Ngozi Ufah’ “My Treasure, Partner, hero and role model, your departure from this world is a misery to me and the children. Only the Holy Spirit can fill the vacuum you have left.

“The children and I will miss you. You have fought a good fight of faith and have won the battle. Rest in peace my husband”.

According to the children, Treasure, Precious and others, their father was a hero whom they noted could fight their battles, lamenting that they will never get to see him again. They prayed God to welcome him home.

According to sympathizers, Late Ufah, was near to perfection, saying that he impacted moral values not just to students but also adults. They said his demise is something they would not forget in a hurry.
