Chief Dennis Araro, was at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ika South Secretariat, along Mariere Street, Agbor, on Saturday, August 25, 2018, to formally declare his intention to contest for the 2019 Delta State House of Assembly, Ika South Constituency election.
On hand at the party secretariat to receive the DTHA hopeful, were the party Chairman, Hon. Collins Bello and leaders of the party at the local government.
In a brief speech at the event, Chief Dennis Araro, informed the party leaders, that he was driven by the love he has for his people and the co-operation which he has received from them, has compelled him to offer himself for the elective position in order to contribute his quota to the development of Ika South Constituency.
In his words, “My aspiration to represent Ika South at the Delta State House of Assembly is an answer to the clarion call by my people to change the narratives”.
Responding to the intention of the aspirant, the Ika South Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Collins Bello, encouraged him to work harder, knowing that the party primaries to elect the successful candidate for the elective position is fast drawing near. He re-emphasized that there is no anointed candidate for the position of Ika South House of Assembly, and urged him to go and convince the delegates for their votes.
Continuing, Hon. Bello, assured that all the aspirants vying for the various elective positions in the council area would be given a level playing ground of free and fair election, urging the contestants to maintain decorum in carrying out their political activities and should in particular avoid the campaign of hate and bitterness, knowing that they are members of the same united PDP family.
