The Publisher and entire management of Ika Weekly Newspaper felicitate with Hon. Fidelia Salami, Chairman, Board of Directors, Delta State Tourism Board, on the successful launch of her books titled; Tourism in Nigeria: The Incredible Journey into the Heart of Nature and Senior Secondary Tourism Books 1, 2, and 3, on Tuesday, 27th July 2021 at Orchid Hotel, DBS Road Asaba, Delta State.

Essentially, aside from the fact that it will in our views not be out of place to characterize such a feat as historic, there exist other ingrained reasons why Hon. Fidelia Salami’s latest achievement deserves our admiration and of course of every well-meaning Ika son and daughter.

Fundamentally, as a Journalist and presently Chairman, Board of Directors, Delta State Tourism Board, Salami in our objective estimation represents and portrays the Ika nation in good light. She is a good ambassador of Ika land and her sterling qualities are worthy of emulating.

Secondly, aside from the latest feat reinforcing how passionate she is about returning Delta to her mainstream on tourism, these latest books on tourism development if adopted by the state and Federal Ministries of education are laced with the capacity to make tourism study a sustainable one in the country while increasing the fortune of the sector.

It is, therefore, our view that governments at all levels should allow these latest books with far-reaching content to spread their wings in all the secondary schools both public and private, in the country.

To get started, we call on the Delta State Ministry of Education to adopt and domesticate these books in all secondary schools in the State. This same effort should be replicated by the Federal Government.

In a similar vein, while the publisher, members of the editorial board, and of course the entire management and staff of Ika Weekly Newspapers again congratulate Honourable Salami for this accomplishment, we submit that it will be highly rewarding if highly placed Ika sons and daughter promote this effort by one of their very own.
