It was an amazing scene to behold at Agadagidi Civic Centre, Umunede in Ika North East LGA of Delta State, as an eleven (11) year old girl, Miss Naomi Ifunnaya Lawrence, on Saturday December 12, 2020 launched her 1st edition of her book titled, “Education.”

It was indeed to the admiration of all present as many wondered and showered encomiums on the little girl.

The event was attended by educationists including Ika North East Education secretary, Mr. Christopher Ekamagule, friends and well-wishers.

In his brief speech, Mr. Christopher Ekamagule commended little Naomi for her hard work, saying that she has recorded a great feat.

He disclosed that Miss Naomi has acquired education for self actualization, which he said is the basic weapon for self actualization. Mr. Ekamagule enjoined children of her age and all present to emulate her foot steps and help contribute to the growth and development of the country, especially in the area of education. He added that many young children are chasing showdown, charging parents to look inward and create time for their children as they remain the future leaders of tomorrow.

Continuing, the education secretary pointed out that when one acquires education, he dines with important dignitaries in the society, saying that Naomi has washed her hands well and as such, she will dine with the kings. He added that the sky is her starting point towards achieving greater things in life.

In a keynote address, Miss. Naomi Ifunnaya Lawrence appreciated all who came to the event despite their busy scheduled.

She revealed that what motivated her to write the book was because of the love and passion she has for education, saying that people are incomplete without quality education. She added that education makes them good thinkers and correct decision makers.

Emphasizing on the importance of education, Miss. Naomi affirmed that education is not only to read and write but to make good use of it for one’s own advantage and to utilize the knowledge for growth.

Miss Naomi, who hails from Ute- Ogbeje, said education as a key to success makes the world a better place, urging parents to send their children to school and help them acquire sound education for a better tomorrow.

Speaking to Ika Weekly reporter shortly after the event, the mother of the little girl, Mrs. Nkechi Francis said she is truly elated seeing the excellent performance of her child, describing her as wonderful and a child of destiny. She urged parents never to kill the dream of their children rather they should support them to accomplish their dreams. She also enjoined the young ones never to be discouraged in achieving their goal despite challenges they might encounter.

According to Mrs. Nkechi Francis, “During the last campaign of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa at Owa Oyibu, Naomi was the little child that delivered a speech at the podium and she was also the child that delivered a speech during the swearing- in of Hon. Charles Ehiedu as Commissioner of Information”.

She appreciated all who supported her child during and after the publication of the book, saying that she is indeed grateful.
