An Akumazi-born father of three (3) children, late Mr. Chukwuma Egbon was reportedly found dead on his farmland at Owa-Oyibu, Ika North East Local Government on the evening of Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
Speaking with Ika Weekly reporter, the wife of late Egbon, Mrs. Rose Chukwuma while lamenting her husband’s shocking death, said her heart is broken and wondered how she will face the reality of life with her husband and the father to her children gone.
According to her, “My late husband left our home in Ute-Alohen Community at about 4 pm to our farm in Owa-Oyibu and it was when he could not return on time as expected, I raised alarm over his whereabouts after several calls to his phone number without response. But the sad news I received from those who went in search of him was that he was found dead on his farmland.

“My husband left the home hale and hearty, but there was no proof that he was murdered because I was told the body had no mark of attack. He was such a quiet and trouble-free man and I have no reason to say someone threatened to kill him”.
Continuing, Mrs. Chukwuma said she believed that it is only God who knows what led to her husband’s death, saying that his death has left oversized shoes for her to put on in the area of raising the children alone, especially in this hard time when both parents are not finding easy not to talk of a single parent.
