The birth of a child is supposed to be a source of joy to parents after long term of pregnancy and delivery much more in the case of triplets, but the reverse was the case for Mr. Godwin Baaka, a native of Emuhu in Ika South LGA of Delta State who though, was blessed with a very rare gift of triplets, welcomed the blessing with mixed feelings due to financial incapability.
Mr. Godwin whose wife, Mrs. Toyin Baaka gave birth to triplets on Monday August 28, 2017 at the Central Hospital, Agbor had group of well-wishers at the hospital who came rejoicing with the couple and the babies as “omegho” resounded from all corners of the hospital ward but, his expression and emotional disposition portrayed sadness in disguise to what was supposed to be a source of joy. He has however, pleaded for assistance calling on individuals, government and all public-spirited people of Ika land to come to their aid in any way they can.
In an interview, he said he felt elated at the news of the new born babies, but his joy came to a halt due to of his financial status at the moment saying that he least expected it. “I am a father of one, and I thought this one will make it two but I never knew it will come this way. I don’t have money to take care of them. My wife needs to feed well in order to breastfeed the babies well; we need baby things and medical attention from time to time. My wife lost so much blood during delivery and so requires blood; all these demands money. I have no meaningful job doing. I am just an okada rider and that alone cannot provide all we need to cater for the babies and the mother.”
Continuing he said, “I am begging the government, individuals and the good people to Ika nation to come to my aid to help cater for my new born babies and their mother. I will appreciate any little token from the general public. They can reach us on 08130136145 or make payments to my account; Account Number: 3831007313 (Eco-Bank), Account Name: Baaka Godwin,” he concluded.
