HON. FESTUS OKOH DECLARES INTENTION FOR SECOND TERM

The member representing Ika South Constituency, at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Okoh, was at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ika South Secretariat, along Marierie Street, Agbor, on Wednesday June 27, 2018, to formally declare his intention to re-contest for a second term.

On hand at the party secretariat to receive the lawmaker were the leadership of the party at the local government, coupled with all elected ward chairmen, women leaders, youth leaders and the ward secretaries, within the council area.

Hon. Okoh, who is fondly referred to as Chuky Dandy by his friends and associates in a brief speech at the event, gave a comprehensive account of his stewardship as a first timer Legislator, which through God’s grace and mercy, he was elected the minority leader of the house.

Disclosing his intention to the party faithful, Hon. Okoh informed the gathering that he was driven by the agape love for his people to run for a second tenure to enable him complete the works he has started through their support and prayers; saying that the cooperation which he has received from members of his constituents was what enabled him to have contributed his quota in developing his constituency.

According to Hon. Okoh, if given the opportunity to serve for a second term, it will enable me to hold key position in the Legislative Chambers. He promised not to disappoint the people, if given the mandate, and enjoined all to endeavor to work together in returning the Governor in 2019.

Responding to the request of the lawmaker, the Ika South Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Collins Bello, while extolling the developmental achievements of Hon. Festus Okoh, urged him to be more committed to the activities of the party, both at the local and state level. He encouraged him to work harder, knowing that the party will later hold her party primaries where the elected candidate for the position will finally emerge.
