Hon. Barr. Victor Nwokolo, the member representing Ika Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives has pledged to improve on his performance and deliver more of the dividends of democracy to the people now that he has been duly nominated by his party to fly the flag in the forthcoming election come 2019.
Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after his victory at the primaries, he expressed his appreciation to the people of Ika nation for deeming him fit to run for the House of Representatives once more, stressing that his winning the primaries was the belief of the people to return him to the House once more for greater assignments for his constituents. He maintained that with his return, Ika people will be in a better position in the legislative polity come 2019 if he eventually clinches it at the general election.
In Victor Nwokolo words, “This is not my victory but a victory for all Ika sons and daughters who believe in Continuity and those who will soon be convinced about the need for continuity in politics. From now, the Ika Federal Constituency will witness not just improved representation but more people oriented robust projects in our constituency. I therefore dedicate this victory to every Ika person.”
Speaking further, Hon. Barr. Victor Nwokolo appealed that this continuity is necessary and should be pursued with vigour to see that the good works of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is sustained by the people by ensuring that the second tenure of the governor is actualized. This according to him is to see that “all should ensure the return of those of them who have been put up for the various positions for the general election by the PDP come 2019.”
Victor Nwokolo promised that he will make sure that more federal presence will be felt with more NDDC projects commenced and completed within the constituency. He promised that relevant bills as always will be sponsored and co-sponsored to reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.
According to Nwokolo , “together we will march to victory and together we will bring democracy to the grassroots as I shall regularly create fora for interaction so that collectively, we will decide on the road map for a greater Ika nation.”
He also used the opportunity to thank the leadership of the party, his numerous supporters and his co-contestant who promised to work with him for success come the election period.
In his final submission,Victor Nwokolo said, “I urge the people to vote for me and see that the best is yet to come to the people in terms of empowerment and government presence in Ika land. Moreover, I humbly appeal to the good people of Ika federal constituency to be calm as I plan that in the coming weeks when the windows for campaign are thrown open. I will present my blue print for the pursuance of our agenda as the people’s mandate. I thank them all.”
