History was made at Owa-Alizomor Community in Ika Northeast Local Government Area of Delta State, as a 57 year old Cripple, Mr. John Chukwuka Okoh got married to a young lady for the first time in his life.
The Solemnization of Holy Matrimony between Mr. John Okoh of Iru Quarter, Owa-Alizomor and former Miss, Ada Miller of Owa-Alero Community, both of Ika Northeast, took place at Fellowship Baptist Church, Owa-Alizomor, on Sunday, April 4, 2021.
Joining the couple together as husband and wife, the Cleric in charge of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Owa-Alizomor, Pastor Benson Ejike, pointed out the scripture, says that he, who finds a good wife, finds a good thing and obtains favour from God. He therefore on this note, admonished the couple to always love each other saying that marriage as an ordained institution has no end until death comes.
Speaking further, the man of God mentioned some of the principles of a successful marriage which include; Love, Understanding, Honesty, Obedience, Endurance, Wisdom and Fear of God. He therefore advised the newly wedded couple and anyone who desires a successful matrimonial home to embrace the aforementioned principles.
He concluded by specifically urging the wife to always be submissive to her husband. He also urged the husband to always respect his wife so that that marriage will continue to be sweet and grow from strength to strength.
In an interview with Ika Weekly Newspaper Reporter, the couple, Mr, and Mrs. John Chukwuka Okoh, gave thanks to God for granted them success in their marriage. They appreciated Rev. Anyiasi, Pastor Izuzu of New Era Baptist Church, Boji-Boji, Owa, Rev. Samuel Nwabor, Pastor Benson Ejike, Baptist Marriage Committee members and others for their encouragement and supports.
In a separate remark, Mr. John Okoh said,” I am grateful to God for giving me a wife. I want to specially thank my wife for accepting my proposal. Since 33 years ago when I had an accident and became paralyzed, I have never walked with my two legs. But, as God would have it, He brought Ada into my life. This is the first time that I am getting married to a woman,” he said.

Continuing, he emphasised that by the special grace of God, he will do everything to please his wife for accepting his proposal and following him to the Altar to be joined together as husband and wife. He stressed that he is now a happy man despite his condition.
The wife on her own part, said that she has no regrets to have gotten married to her husband, saying that she has come into his life to give him joy and make him feel like a man. She noted that even before they got wedded she was still having some discouragement from some people, particularly her fellow women, telling her not to go into the marriage due to his husband’s condition, but said she resisted them.
