I WENT INTO STEALING TO GIVE MY LATE MOTHER BEFITTING BURIAL-Suspect

A 24-year-old Abia State-born, Mr. Chinagorom Emmanuel who is among the gang of criminals terrorizing Agbor and environ has been apprehended by men of Agbor Gha-Ihun Vigilante Group on Monday, March 27, 2023.
Confessing before newsmen, Mr. Emmanuel said he is an electrical technician that has gone into stealing to give his late mother whose body is lying in the mortuary befitting burial as the first son.
“I enter peoples shop in pretending to buy an item. But my aim is to steal valuable items like phones. This is my first time in Agbor, and I met my waterloo in one of my victim’s shops”.
Continuing, the suspect said he has chosen the path of stealing since he has no helper to assist him to startup life. He further pleaded for forgiveness, stating that his evil deed has disgraced him.
Mr. Emmanuel also disclosed that he has contact with an Hausa man in Asaba who buys the stolen phones.
On his part, the Chairman of Agbor Gha-Ihun Vigilante, Comrade Monday Kiyem said with their security outfit, it is the end of the road for Emmanuel’s criminality because they will not entertain crime. He said criminal when caught will be made to face the wrath of the law for causing people pain over their stolen goods.
In his words, “Emmanuel is in the business of stealing phones. We have found many sim cards and phones in his possession and many of his victims we succeeded calling complained that their phones were stolen. Some of their Agbor victims have come to our office to identify their phones and narrated how Emmanuel came to their shops pretending to buy an item and stole their phones.
“I will hand Emmanuel over to the police for further investigation. The police is joining hands with us to bring his fleeing gang members to book”.
Comrade Kiyem who doubles as SA on Security to the Delta State Governor, affirmed that he has continued to warn criminal minded persons to flee from Agbor or stand to face the wrath of the law when caught, stating that Agbor Gha-Ihun Vigilante members will not rest until Agbor and environ are crime free.
