Dr. Samuel and Dr. (Mrs.) Julie Idiaghe have marked their 40 years of marriage with thanksgiving, to God for the journey so far. ELECTION 2019, THE MEANINGLESS CAMPAIGN SLOGANS
The marriage anniversary thanksgiving which culminated in renewal of marriage vows and exchange of rings was held in the Anglican Church of St. John’s, Agbor, Headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State Sunday, January 13, 2019.
While performing the marriage anniversary and renewal service, the Archdeacon of St. John, Ven. Pat Onyeka Okoh assured the couple that their marriage would be sweeter on daily basis as they built it on the foundation of godliness, love and trust for each other.
The couple was accompanied to the altar by their entire family, children, grand-children, sons and daughters-in-law as well as the entire church congregation.
During the reception at Anioma Hospital complex, the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. (Chief) Joseph Ukadike in his speech, called the family of Dr. and Dr. (Mrs.) Samuel Idiaghe “a humble family, where peace, progress, love and understanding radiate.”
Dr. Ukadike, who is the Provost of the College of Education, Agbor, and the Oshodi of Umunede Kingdom, congratulated the couple on what he called “successful marriage” which started 40 years ago.
Speaking further, the Chairman maintained that successful marriages were built on the foundation of love and understanding, not on wealth, just as he likened marriage to a rapped-up parcel from God which becomes opened by the couple as marriage progresses.
He pointed out that the marriage was being celebrated due to the gifts of God received therein, including children, grandchildren, as well as inestimable assets.
Above all, the Oshodi of Umunede said, he felt unqualified to speak on 40yrs marriage anniversary as he had not been married for that number of years. He however, thanked God for keeping the couple strong and healthy.
In appreciation, the Chief celebrant, Dr. Samuel Idiaghe, ‘ on behalf of his beloved wife, Julie, thanked all for coming to identify with them in the celebration of the Rubi Jubilee.
Dr. Idaighe particularly thanked the Obi of Owa, HRM, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II and his galaxy of Chiefs; the Ekakaribe Association, Ika Landlords/landladies, staff of College of Education, Agbor, amongst other notable personalities and groups. He specially thanked his children and relatives in-law who he said made every arrangement for the celebration.
The events of the Wedding Anniversary celebration included cutting of anniversary cake as well as cultural dance by the female staff of Anioma Hospital. Other dignitaries that graced the occasion were the Okiroro of Owa, — Justice (Chief) S.A. Ehiwarior (Rtd.); the Ineh of Owa Kingdom, Engr. (Chief) Nkemchor Okwuokenye, Dr. Martin Orie, Gen. Ephraim Usiade (Rtd.), Head, Collective Leadership of Onu Ika, Nigeria, Mr. Dan Usifoh.
Others were Chief Elder John Ehikwe, the Publisher, Ika Weekly Newspaper, Mr. Steve Mekiriuwa Ashien, Hon Chief and Chief Mrs. Nwaebo, Dr. and Dr. Mrs. Tibi, Dr. and Dr. Mrs. Omumu, the College Community and relatives, in-laws from Ekuluobia in Anambra State.
