IF ONLY MOST AGBOR GIRLS CAN BE ANOTHER GENEVIEVE

By Chucks Dominic Morsi

It is imperative to understand the times in which we live in. Times are changing and so are the values and perspectives of the Gen-z generation and their ideals. The times in which we live are not only assumed to be dangerous, but it is an era promising the youths nothing but a faint gleam of hope for tomorrow.

Hence, the youths feel that the only way to survive the times is to do whatever it takes to reshape their world – whether good or bad. Thus, they engage themselves in all sorts of strange things. And for the girls, my guess is as good as yours. Rather than doing hookup, engaging in under aged prostitution, human trafficking which is way common among us, there are better options.

In life, we have those we follow their footsteps and they become role models and outcome of what we become later in life. There are those whose positive example becomes a ray of hope while others lead to nowhere. As for young Ika girls in general, it is advisable we copy the right thing, lookup to the right people who are making waves and succeeding in their various endeavors; those should be your positive role models. The likes of Genevieve Nnaji, a veteran Icon in the movie industry is one typical example of a woman who against all odds, worked tirelessly to get to the limelight – the Genevieve Nnaji of my dream. This amazing thespian had once advocated that women should please “don’t reduce men to animal”.

True to it, hookup girls have virtually reduced most men to beastly animals, philanderers chasing anything and everything on skirt. Of course, Genevieve’s piece of advice may had been borne by the fact (just as I have mentioned), most women see men as nothing lesser than a beast! For whatever reason, that is best known to the womenfolk anyway. Genevieve for me is a trailblazer, who a long time ago has earned my admiration. Admit it or not, she’s one of the best ladies around who has got what I term “professional intelligence and eminence”. In the acting industry, people like her are not only see as famous but well-respected, smart, intelligent and with good sense of character. Supposing when life casted a dark shadow in the beginning of her life and all she could have done was, take up hookup as a job, she wouldn’t be where she is today.

Some skeptics (maybe out of envy or what) would ask “who the heck does she think she is!” Well then, that may be a consensus opinion, right or wrong, hello, don’t let that draw gaps of surprise from you because people must wag their tongues for good or bad reasons. But the point is, Genevieve is a good example and a role model to emulate. She is an asset with brawn and brains other ladies and girls (especially Ika girls) should wish to covert. For an average Agbor girl, you need to know that you have to step into the right place to achieve your dream in life and not necessarily been in bed with every Tom Dick and Harry before you can make money. There is dignity in labor through skill acquisition and not trading your body for money.

Today, the likes of Genevieve is flaunting her talent professionally and smiling to the bank. If you may have the privilege and ask her one thing, she’s likely going to tell you that she is, “every man’s dream”. What’s more, she’s doing what she loves and have passion for and understood well – an absolutely terrific lady everyone admires; not just for her abilities but her simplicity is topnotch, a dignified personality with humbleness of spirit. That is exactly who she is, an epitome of humility.

On the other side of the divide are Mercy Johnson and Omotola Jalade Ekende, if you can acknowledge that, they are superwomen too! They are most amazing and exciting people to watch on TV. These thespians are worthy of celebration anytime, any day as African heroes and above all, as Nigerian making us proud on the world stage.

Genevieve as an actress of all times and season, if one was to give her a pass mark, again, she will be scoring (in my candid opinion) above an average of a first-rate actress of all time. In all ramification of life, she’s doing well for herself, breaking leads and bounds and having the stroke of a genius.

How I was startled one day watching her interview on Teju Babyface show on TV where she kept the audience (including myself) spell bound with her humble, true to life narrative of herself, which most people would not be proud to say. However, I love and most admired her command of English and eloquence. What a bundle of talent she is! She was able to gain experience through life rather than what the four walls of the University education could had offered her. Without a university certificate, yet, she is doing just fine.

In the acting profession, you need brain, power, energy, confidence and spice and not “bottom power” as the case is nowadays. Put it together, Genevieve has got talent and she fancies herself, so I think.
