Members of Ika Anti-Cult Group, yesterday, December 12, 2017 nabbed three armed cultists along Baleke Street, Agbor, in Ika South Local Government area of Delta State.
The armed cultists who gave their names as Ejime Uzorka, Mariori Chiyem and James Oniye, confessed that they are members of Eiye Confraternity and reside in Mbiri, in Ika North East Local Government. They added that they are fighting a cult war in Mbiri and they needed guns to defeat their opponents. They said they were in Agbor to purchase more guns from a man whose name was not disclosed. They stated that they were nabbed by members of Ika Anti-Cult group while they were on their way to buy the guns.
Emma Nwa Jesus and Valentine Onyekachukwu Igumbor while speaking on behalf of the committee said that they were on their routine patrol that morning along Baleke Street when they suspected a foul play after they saw the cultists on top of a motorcycle. “Immediately, we saw them on top of a motorcycle, we suspected something and approached them. It was after our search that we found a gun on them. We have handed them over to the men of the Agbor Police for further investigations. We are using this opportunity to warn criminally minded persons in Ika land to run away from the area as we are fully prepared to pursue and arrest them”.
