As the 2017/2018 Christmas and New Year celebrations draw closer, and the news that Ika carnival will be organized to add meaning and values to the annual celebrations has not been heard anywhere, a concerned citizen of Agbor kingdom, Elder Augustine Emegha, Managing Director, Babadus Guest House, Agbor has called on Delta State Government led by Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to look into the matter, as without Ika carnival in Ika land, there will be no meaningful Christmas celebration in Ika nation. He made this call during the week.
Elder Augustine Emegha lauded the efforts of Mr. Sabastine Okoh, the initiator and organizer of Ika carnival for the joy, peace, unity and meaningful development for his initiative of bringing such a prestigious Ika carnival to Ika land have recorded in the lives of many people. He added that through the Ika carnival, a lot of Ika people were able to see, chat and exchange pleasantries with some of the notable Nigerian Movie Actor/Actress as well as the most popular stars and talented musicians. He stressed that Ika carnival is the only regard he personally has for Senator Okowa’s administration, appealing to the governor to support his personal aide on Events Mr. Sabastine Okoh so that this year’s carnival will be a reality.
Speaking further, Elder Augustine Emegha used the medium to inform the governor to have it at the back of his mind that Ika nation is known today because of Sebastine Okoh’s carnival initiative as some would like to travel all the way from London, USA and other states of Nigeria to attend the carnival. He concluded by commending Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the Governor Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for all his efforts towards the Ika carnival and urged him not to relent in his effort of doing more.
