The Executive Chairman, Ika North East Local Government Council, Hon. (Barr.) Victor Ebonka on Monday, February 19th, 2018 swore in five supervisory councillors into the local government council cabinet.
The five man supervisory councillors was sworn in at his office after due screening and confirmation by the legislative arm of the council.
Addressing the supervisory councillors, Hon. Ebonka congratulated them for emerging victorious after the rigorous screening exercise by the Legislative Arm. He assured them that he is ready to work with them accordingly to attain greater heights in the local government. He charged them on competence saying that competence is the watchword of his administration.
Reiterating his commitment to serve the people, he stated that he is poised to move the council to greater heights. The supervisors, whose functions are to serve as political heads of their various departments, as L.G Exco members, will give directives to professional heads of departments on general issues amongst other duties that will be assigned to their portfolios by the chairman.
The supervisors sworn in are: Hon. Lucky Efeizomor, Environment, Major. Andrew Iroro, Education and Community Development, Mr. Ucheonye Ujor, Health, Mr. Lucky Nduka, Finance, and Mr. Louis Agbazie, Agriculture.
The Chairman gracefully assigned the Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Collina Anazia to supervise the department for works, to the joy of all present at the event.
Responding on behalf of other supervisors, Major Iroro (Rtd) assured the Chairman of their loyalty, competence and readiness to work effectively without fear or favour to carry the local government to an enviable height.
