In a follow up of his earlier inspection of Abavo Market recently, the Executive Chairman, Ika South Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Victor Okoh has evacuated heaps of refuse which was hitherto overtaking the market.GOV. IFEANYI OKOWA DECLARES OPERATION CLEAN UP YOUR ENVIRONMENT
The evacuation which was supervised by Hon. Okoh and the HOD Environment of the Council, Mr. Francis Ekih, took place on three different days simultaneously.
Overseeing the exercise, Hon. Okoh instructed store owners at the market to desist from littering the market, so as not to return it to the former state. He created an alternative site to dump refuse within the market.
He decried the previous state of the market, while tasking those in charge of the market to take adequate care, and ensure all littering comes to an end.
Traders and Abavo community residents on ground to experience the evacuation commended the Council Boss for his dedication and steadfastness towards the sanitation of the market and local government at large, even as they urged him to do more.
