IKA SOUTH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN IDENTIFIES WITH ALMA MATER

The Executive Chairman, Ika South Local Government Council, Hon. Barr. Victor Okoh, has been inducted into his Alma mater, St George’s Grammar School, Obinumba Old Boys Association, (SAGOBA).

The Executive Chairman formally joined the Old Boys Association of the school founded in 1960 at the enlarged meeting of the association branch in Agbor hosted by a pioneer student of the school and a patron to the association, Chief Elder John Ehikwe, on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

The meeting had in attendance elders who have been able to build on the motto of the school and have now become great personalities in the society. Among these persons are, Chief Elder John Ehikwe (Patron), Mr. Eddy N. Okonta (Chairman Agbor branch), Mr. Ehikwe A. M.(Vice chairman), Chief Opone H. O ( General Secretary), Mr. Anioba R. (Financial Secretary), Mr. Obi-Okoh R. (Treasurer), Mr. Nwachukwu P.C, (PRO), while other members include Chief Eluebo S.E, Mr. Okoh S, Dr. Uche J.I, Engr. Anamali J., Sir Ebeyeoghor O.P, Mr. Akpenyi C.C, Engr. Obi Richard, Mr. Obodo G, Dr. Kaiser G and Barrister Okoh Victor.

In his opening remark, the chairman of the association, Mr. Eddy Okonta, welcomed the new member, Barr. Okoh and his entourage. He expressed joy to have Barr Okoh attending the meeting to formerly join his Alma Mater. He also eulogized him for being able to attain the feat of becoming the most senior citizen of Ika South LG.

The Executive Chairman explained that with his membership into SAGOBA, he will be exposed to elders of the association who will be able to guide him with wisdom even as he expressed confidence that Barr. Okoh will live up to expectations through his experience as a former deputy chairman of the council.

Meanwhile, Mr. Okonta advised the council boss to rule the local government with the fear of God and also to be fair to all irrespective of political affiliations for him to end his tenure well.

The patron, Chief Elder Ehikwe, while recounting his experience way back in the 60s, posited that Barr. Okoh whom he described as his great grandson will have no choice than to build on the knowledge impacted on them by the school.

“We are proud to have you as part of SAGOBA and we will play our role as fathers to properly guide you to become victorious in your service to humanity,” Chief Elder Ehikwe added.

Responding, The Executive Chairman Barr. Victor Okoh said he was humbled and challenged by the show of love accorded him as he identifies with his Alma mater.

“I am grateful and I shall do everything possible to justify the trust and confidence,” he said.

The meeting which was well hosted by the patron ended with a presentation of giant complimentary card to congratulate Barr. Okoh for the level of progress he has made and also felicitate with him on the election victory that brought him into power, saying that this feat is the beginning of greater things to come in his life
