IKA SOUTH PDP SETTLES DISCREPANCY, APPLAUDS GOV. OKOWA

Ika South PDP said it has resolved an observed discrepancy capable of plunging the party into crisis. This was disclosed after a closed door meeting of the party leaders held at the Ika South PDP Secretariat in Agbor. One of the party leaders, Prof. Joseph E. Alika who briefed the Press explained that the discrepancy involved in the alteration of the nominated delegate list for the concluded 2017 non-elective convention of the party held at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Saturday last week.
According to him, “Some discrepancies marred the appointed national delegate list from Ika South for the convention. One of our members, Rtd. Col. Godwin Eborma was the one nominated to be the delegate but unfortunately, another of our member was further nominated by the state without our notice and this eventually, created confusion at the Eagle Square.”
“For the confusion not to develop into heated words, the Ika South PDP Chairman, Hon. Collins Bello, in his magnanimity called for an urgent meeting where the matter was looked into and resolved. So we are saying that the misunderstanding is resolved and we shall continue to forge ahead.”
Meanwhile, Hon. Bello appreciated the leaders for responding to the meeting and encouraged the leaders as well as the party faithful in the area to continue to be peaceful and united.

In the same vein, the party leaders lauded Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for doing a beautiful job as the Chairman of the Convention, saying that his co-ordination was mature and successful. They added that with Okowa’s performance, the party is sure of achieving greater height in future even as they reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a landslide victory for the party come 2019.
Speaking in an interview, the Executive Director of Waste Management Board, Delta North Senatorial District, and Mr. Jude Onyia said the impact of Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa has raised the shoulder of Deltans high coupled with eulogies from dignitaries who were ready to associate with the governor.
He said, “Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is a man who understands the rudiments of politics. This has made him a good political leader and we are optimistic that he will achieve more in Nigerian politics.”
However, Mr. Onyia enjoined Deltans to encourage the governor by way of supporting him and also ensure that peace is sustained in the party at all levels.
