The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State have called for more support for the gubernatorial election of His Excellency, Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to enable him emerge victorious and go back to his office at the Delta State Government House Asaba, come 2019.
Addressing the women during the meeting which took place recently at the Ika South PDP Secretariat, Mr. Collins Bello, Chairman PDP Ika South Charged the women to take every necessary step that has to do with Governor Okowa’s 2019 gubernational elections as their major concern, noting that in the history of Delta state politics, Governor Okowa has been a leader who has the interest of his people at heart irrespective of their educational, age and political background. He urged the women to go back home and start mobilizing other women in their various political wards for the success of Governor Okowa’s 2019 re-election.
Speaking at the event, the Special Assistant to Governor Okowa on Women Mobilization, Ezinne (Mrs.) Cecilia Ogbonyeri, and the PDP Women leader in the Local Government, Mrs. Bridget Irubor in their separate remarks commended Governor Okowa for carrying the women in Ika South in particular and Delta State in general along since he assumed office in May 29, 2015. They on behalf of Ika south women wing promised to support Governor Okowa to whatever position he prays to attain in life. They called on all women in the local government to start campaigning for the governor by holding meetings with other women and men in their respective wards so that at the end of the 2019 general election, Governor Okowa and all other PDP candidates will appreciate God in their various churches for seeing them through.
In a similar development, another woman mobilizer in Ika South Local Government area, Hon. (Mrs.) Cordelia Anyagwu who spoke vividly and categorically on Governor Okowa’s developmental strides across Delta state, charged the women to be steadfast and committed to PDP’s affairs. She noted that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has promised to always carry the women along at all times by creating awareness for them to benefit from his administration. She concluded by advising all ward women leaders and co-coordinators to be hardworking and desist from creating factions in their wards.
