Ika Village Square (IVS), a Social cultural Organization, comprising the eleven clans of Ika land, with the aim of working with the state government in developing the various communities within Ika nation on Sunday November 12, 2017, celebrated Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah.
According to the Press Release by Engr. Tony Emeke Odoe, on behalf of Ika Village Square organization stated that in line with the notice from the leadership to the general forum that; an Ika person will be selected from time to time to be celebrated, hence the leadership nominated Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, for contributing immensely in bridging the health disparities in various rural communities across the globe.
Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, an indigene of Igbodo kingdom in Ika North East LGA of Delta State, fondly referred to by many, as the “Mother Teresa” of our time, has serious passion for prevention and control of diseases through her regular free health Medicare programmes every year to most rural communities in Delta State and several countries in the world.
Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, is an American based Certified Physician, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physician (FAAFP) and Georgia Academy of Family Physician. Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah is a graduate of the Prestigious College of Medicine, University of Benin, from where she proceeded to Rollins School of Public Health Emory University, Atlanta, and she obtained a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH).
She is an adjunct Professor of the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta and Moore House School of Medicine Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, is married to Chief Dr. Barrister Christopher Okobah with three children. She is currently the President / CEO First Lithonia Medical Centre. She is a devout Catholic who enjoys teaching Sunday School at Saint Joseph Catholic Church Marietta, Georgia.
