In an era that has seen a rise in active participation of women in politics, an Agbor- Obi, born woman, Dr. (Mrs.) Helen Godswill- Solomon has declared her interest to run for the position of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
She made this declaration during her presentation at the 2018 convention of Ika National Association in Houston, Texas, USA.
She stated that Nigeria does not lack men, human resources or quality and competent leaders, pointing out that those who qualify are not given the opportunity to make a difference.
She disclosed that her aim is to rebrand and rebuild Nigeria with the help of Nigerians in Diaspora through her “Restoration 2019” agenda, stressing that ‘no man becomes a king in another man’s land’.
In her words: “I have identified the root problem of Nigeria, and I have traced it to corruption, and I have set out to make a difference. I am asking you for your support, if I do not have your backing, I cannot go far, so I need you as my people to support me by getting your PVC”.
Dr. Mrs. Helen Young Solomon who is also a Pastor and author of the book, “The Birth of a New Nigeria,” is a Nigerian from Agbor kingdom, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. Born to the late Sir Alexander Ngozichukwuka Agboifo and Lady Victoria Nwakaego Agboifo of Agbor. Married to Dr. Solomon, President, Ika National Association, USA.
She is a graduate of Law from Edo State University, Ekpoma, Nigeria, she attended Nigeria Law School in Lagos and she is a recipient of Honorary Doctor of Divinity from My Life Theological Institute, Maryland, United States of America. She obtained her Primary Education at Sacred Heart Primary School (now Diai Primary School), Umunede, Ika North East, Delta State. She moved to Mary Mount Girls College Owa. Delta state for her secondary education and advanced to Federal Government college Port Harcourt. Rivers State.
