Prince Nduka Irabor on Tuesday December 24, 2019 organized Christmas Carol in his residence at Owa Oyibu with men and women of high standing in Ika nation. The event saw the unfolding of different interesting presentation in honour of Christ’s birth. These include; The Glory of God music drama concert on the divine protection of God, Co-Heir song presentation and various choir groups.
The first reading of the day was taken by Her Excellency, Dame Edith Okowa, the First Lady of Delta State. She took her reading from the book of Isaiah 9:6. The second reading was taken by the wife of the host, Mrs. Nduka Irabor and she took her reading from Matt 2:1-3. While the third reading, Acts 2:17-21 was taken by Dr. Festus Gozim

Bishop Ekpenisi who gave the homily of the day, based his admonition on Matthew chapter 2, frowning at the decline of godliness in today’s world, which he said was as a result the quest for power and riches. According to him, the inordinate quest for wealth and fortification, has led many astray from following the star shown to them by God and they have ended up in the symbolic house of Herod which represents all activities of Satanism and idolatry.
His words, “There are a lot of persons that grew up in the church, but there comes a time when they do not have Christ in their lives anymore. If you can stay a month without consciously opening the Bible to read an entire chapter, you do not know him.
“Do you celebrate Christ in your house every morning? How much are you passing over the knowledge of Christ to the young generation? Herod didn’t know Him. Are you like Herod? We have come to a generation where we have clergymen and high ranking church officials who put on different uniforms on Christmas Day without having Christ in their hearts.
“It is much more painful when we have a country where we have more number of churches than schools and industries, but ironically, we do not have Christ in us.”
Speaking further, he bemoaned the paradigm shift in the present generation from what it was when he was growing up. According to him, when he was young, he and his peers got to know Christ and were able to convert their parents who were pagans to the way of Christ. But today as a parent, he has come to discover that there are godly parents with ungodly children.

He however expressed optimism that someday the people of the world would retrace their step and leave the house of Herod to follow the star, which is still waiting for them to lead them to the messiah just like the Three Wise Men.
Dignitaries present include the governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, HRM Dr. Emmanuel O. Efeizomor, the Delta State Secretary, Barr. Chinedu Ebie, House of Representative, Ika Federal Constituency, Hon.Victor Nwokolo, Head Collective Leadership of Onu Ika, Elder Dan Usifoh, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri, Hon Moses Iduh and many others.
All present were thrilled by the outstanding classical crew of HRH Igwe Professor Laz Ekwueme.
