An American based certified Physician of Ika extraction, Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, was recently given double appointments by the current administration of His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, of Delta State.
The news of the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, as the Chairman of Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency and Executive Assistant to the state governor on E-Health program, was received with great jubilation in several communities across the state. To some, the appointment was long overdue considering her track records of contributing immensely in bridging the health disparities in most rural communities across the globe and her passion for prevention and control of diseases through her annual regular free health Medicare programmes to most rural communities in Delta State and several countries in the world.
Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, an indigene of Igbodo kingdom in Ika North East LGA of Delta State, is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physician (FAAFP) and Georgia Academy of Family Physician. She is a graduate of the Prestigious College of Medicine University of Benin, from where she proceeded to Rollins School of Public Health Emory University, Atlanta, where she obtained a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH). Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah is an adjunct Professor of the department of family and preventive Medicine Emory University school of Medicine Atlanta and Moore House School of Medicine Atlanta, Georgia.
She is married to Chief Dr. Barrister Christopher Okobah of Onicha-Ugbo with three children.
