A front line governorship aspirant and leader of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Delta State, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, has described the late Ika born Deputy Inspector General of Police, Chief Donald M. Ugbaja, as an icon who has left a positive footprint in the sand of time.
Great Ogboru popularly known as the civilian general stated this through a condolence message presented by a leader of the party, Chief Charles Uwechue, during their condolence visit to the bereaved family.
The visit had in attendance APC chieftains from across the three Senatorial districts of Delta state under “Team Ogboru” among whom are Evangelist Ossai Abba, Dele Urawayino, Rev. Urukpe Johnson, Comr. Victor Akpenyi, Hon. Obi Moye, Azamose Daniel, Arekafu Godwin, Mrs. Beatrice Ehiwogwu and host of others.
Conveying the condolence message on behalf of their principal who was unavoidably absent during the visit, Chief Charles Uwachue affirmed that late Chief Ugbaja was indeed a jewel of inestimable value, and a light in the midst of darkness.
He said Chief Ugbaja during his lifetime; played active roles in the party and was a leader who was completely detribalized.
“His impact encouraged many of us to continue in our roles in politics and now that God has called him to His bosom, all we can say is that, ‘it is well’. However, we don’t need to cry over the loss because daddy has left a positive footprint in the sand of time. He lived a life to the aspirations of the young ones and our principal, Chief Ogboru was fond of him but it was unfortunate that they could not meet in Ika land as planned before the unfortunate happened.” He concluded by encouraging the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that their father lived a good life.
