MONYE, ELUMA DECLARE FOR HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY RACE

The Managing Direcor, Monaco Ventures Nigeria Limited, a native of Allagwai in Ika South Local Government Area, Mr. Lucky Ehiwuogwu Monye and Hon. Williams S. Eluma, the Former Councillor of Ward 1, Ika South, have both formally declared their intentions to contest for the position of the Delta State House of Assembly in Ika South State Constituency, come 2019, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On his own part, the Allagwai born businessman, Mr. Lucky Ehiwuogwu Monye charged the people of Ika South constituency to support his ambition and plans to transform the Local Government when he becomes a Legislator at the Delta State House of Assembly, Asaba, come 2019. He stated that he is not contesting for the position of the Delta State House of Assembly, Ika South Constituency, for selfish reasons, like other political leaders in the opposition parties who he said are fond of squandering public funds, saying that his primary aim of wanting to represent his people is to bring meaningful growth and development to the local government.

Disclosing, Mr. Monye stated that if voted into power come 2019, he will provide quality and effective representation, attract empowerment for widows and orphans, enhance and empower youths for meaningful growth and development. He also promised that he will help in attracting development to his constituency, conducting Town Hall Meetings, advocate for good and quality governance and others if given the mandate to represent.

Declaring his interest, during an enlarged APC meeting in Agbor, the former councillor, Ward 1, Agbor-Obi, Hon. Williams S. Eluma said he chose to represent the interest of his people in Agbor-Obi initially under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he dumped the political party to join APC. His purpose of defecting from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, according to the Ex-Law maker, was due to the fraudulent acts and corrupt practices of the PDP leaders particularly at the Local Government and State Levels. He emphasized that he will ensure that the dividends of democracy get to his people in Ika South if given the mandate to represent their interests at the Delta State House of Assembly, Asaba.

Speaking further, the aspirant promised to engage his people meaningfully by empowering them through Skills Acquisition programmes. He also noted that if elected into power, he is not going to see or regard himself as a leader, but as a servant of the people because the people sent him to represent their precious interest at the State House.

The Local Government Chairman of APC in Ika South, Mr. Nwakor, having taken time to listen to the manifestos of the newly declared aspirants, Mr. Monye and Hon. Eluma, charged them to always embark on grassroot politics by meeting with their people and consulting those who will be of immense contribution and assistance to their victories in 2019 . The Party Chairman therefore called on APC faithful in the local government to support the party to enable them come out with flying colours after the 2019 General Elections.

Among other leaders of the party who spoke during the meeting were: the Executive Chairman of Ika South Local Government Council, Hon. (Engr.) Andrew Obiazi and Mr. Chuks Osazuwa, Ward 1 Chairman of the party, APC in Agbor-Obi community thanked the party members for their supports so far. They charged them to give 100 percent support to Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, their Governorship Aspirant and party chieftain, to enable him succeed as Governor of Delta State, come 2019.
