The ever busy Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa Road Junction by Old Lagos Asaba Road, Boji-Boji, Owa was recently a scene of auto crashes at different times which claimed the life of a young man, others injured and properties worth millions of Naira destroyed.
On Saturday, April 17, 2021, a trailer with plate number, Anambra JJT-91XG rammed into the premises of the Divine Home Affairs. According to sympathizers who were at the scene of the incident, the trailer driver coming from Warri with a full load of palm-nut kennel lost control at Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa Road by Old Lagos/Asaba Road, Boji-Boji Owa and rammed into the compound of Divine Home Affairs, owned by the PDP Chairman, Delta State, Dcn. Moses Iduh.
Some of the properties damaged by the trailer are the fence of the building, a bus that was parked in the compound and the Boys Quarters of the main building..
Not quite long after the trailer incident, another took place junction at adjacent to the spot of the earlier trailer incident. A young man on a motor bike who was on a high speed, rammed into a Tipper that was fully loaded with sand and died on his way to the Central Hospital, Agbor.
According to an eye witness account, the tipper driver was trying to negotiate to the other side of the road when the bike rider rode into the tipper, killing the passenger of the motorcycle on the spot. It was also gathered that the motorcyclist was on high speed in a bid to beat the traffic and was said to be coming from Ogbemudein Secondary School area
Moreover, the drivers of both the trailer and the tipper had gone into hiding for the safety of their lives.
Another fatal accident was also recorded at the same Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa Road Junction by Old Lagos Asaba Road, Boji-Boji, Owa on Thursday, April 22, 2021 when a tipper driver who lost control crushed a boy who according to eye witnesses said was seated on his CG motorcycle, observing the traffic.
The victim of the accident whose identity as at the time of filing this report was unknown was rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, his two legs were seriously broken.
