NBA President Appoints Umunede Son Into NBA Lawyers In Diaspora Forum

Jubilation and excitement rented the air as one of the illustrious sons of Umunede Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Desmond Orisewezie Esq was recently appointed into NBA Lawyers in Diaspora Forum.

He was appointed by the president of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, alongside with other distinguished legal Professionals across the country.

The Umunede born Lagos based Lawyer is expected to make good use of his international network alongside with his fellow appointees and set up a strong policy for Nigerian lawyers who are practicing, studying or living abroad.

Mr. Orisewezie is said to have returned to his country home after his graduation in United Kingdom where he obtained a Master degree in international law and gained huge experience with a UK Government department.

The Forum is expected to facilitate global professional connections and contribute towards the advancement of legal practice in Nigeria.

The NBA Lawyers in Diaspora Forum is also expected to concentrate on important areas such as policy engagement, professional development, as well as give support to lawyers in diaspora.

Again, it is believed that the Forum will team up with the wider NBA to address some hiccups encountered by Nigerian lawyers who are seeking qualification in foreign jurisdictions, improve legal education and practice, as well as build up Nigeria’s collaborative efforts with the international legal community.

Speaking with Ika Weekly Newspaper reporter, Mr. Desmond Orisewezie Esq said he is truly thankful to God for such an appointment, saying that he is overwhelmed with joy.

He appreciated the NBA president, Mr. Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN for finding him worthy of the appointment, saying that he will never betray the trust and confidence reposed in him.

He also thanked members of his family and the entire people of Umunede Kingdom for their support and prayers, affirming that he will judiciously use his position to serve his father land and Nigeria in general.
