OBI EFEIZOMOR CALLS FOR UNITY, CAUTIONS RESIDENTS AGAINST SOCIAL VICES

His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel O. Efeizomor II, (JP) OON, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, has advised his subjects to embrace unity and desist from social vices so that his kingdom and Delta State in general will continue to move forward.

His Royal Majesty Dr. Emmanuel O. Efeizomor II, (JP) OON who is the chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, handed down this advice through the Executive members of Ni-Owa-Rinma Association, led by its chairman, Comrade John Onwubuya. Ni-Owa Rinma Association is a social cultural and youths body that was recently constituted by His Royal Majesty across the seven traditional communities in Owa kingdom to bring more peace and unity to the kingdom.

The admonitions were on behalf of the Dr. Emmanuel O. Efeizomor II, (JP) OON issued by Comrade Onwubuya and his Executive members during a crucial meeting of the youths in Owa kingdom which took place at Owa-Alizomor Community on Saturday July 21, 2018.

Speaking further, Comrade John Onwubuya noted that the Obi’s purpose of constituting the youth body in Owa kingdom is to ensure peace, unity and security consciousness in the communities in particular and Delta State at large. According to him, “our royal father, HRM, Dr. E. O. Efeizomor II, the Obi of Owa kingdom is a peace loving monarch, a father and role model who eats and remember  those around him who have not eaten. Since he ascended the throne of his fore-fathers many years ago, peace, growth and development have been restored to Owa kingdom.

Ni-Owa Rinma Association as the name implies, is youth body which our worthy king constituted about two months ago to enhance peace and security in Owa kingdom. The monarch, HRM, Dr. E. O. Efeizomor II has asked us to embrace love and unity and to above all, start meeting from one community to another every two weeks. The reason for this meetings is to enable us unite, discuss, share ideas together and plan for the betterment of our lives to be precise and Delta State in general.

Those who contributed to the chairman’s speeches, include the vice chairman of the group, Comrade Patrick Ekpenisi, Engr. Amos I. Agbobu-Adviser, Comrade Friday Buzugbe-Adviser and others.

In their seperate remarks, they thanked the Obi for finding a means of uniting the youths in his kingdom. They advised all residents of Owa kingdom who have not registered for the INEC Personal Voter’s Card (PVC) and also, encouraged those who have gone to registered but, have not collected their PVCs to urgently do so before August 15 2018, the dead line for the registration exercises to enable them vote for His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State on his re-election in 2019.

Mr. Sunday Afule, Mr. Kenneth Alika and Mr. Clifford John Onuodafin were among the youths of Owa Alizomor Community who  spoke on their pains, intimidations and marginalization of their community.

The youths said they are very excited with the ideals being initiated by the Obi of Owa kingdom to bring more unity and peace to their community. They said they are not happy with the way and manners, Owa-Alizomor community has been marginalized in terms of roads construction, good hospitals, functioning market square, good water and even, the political appointments they said have been given to a lot of persons in Ika nation in particular and Delta State at large.

The concerned youths urged the political leaders in the community particularly those who are not residing the community, to always carry them along in their decision making and political affairs. They on behalf of other youths in the community, charged the political leaders to stop cheating them, by recognizing their existence in the community not only when there is something good for them to benefit, rather, they should always see them as one and as people with equal civic rights and responsibilities. The youths concluded by informing the public particularly those who attended their recent political meeting in Boji-Boji Owa, where they said all ward youth leaders were given opportunities to bare their minds on what Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State has done in their wards and respective communities.

Speaking further, the youths disclosed that at the meeting, when they asked the youth leader representing ward six, which comprises of Owa-Alizomor, Owa-Ekei and Owa-Ofie communities, in Ika North East Local Government Area, Mr. Kingsley Boi, a native of Owa-Ofie, stood up and told over thousands of people including the press who came to gather information that the Governor has finished tarring the whole roads in ward 6, while the roads are not tarried.

The youths however assured the governor that they are fully in support of his re-election bids in 2019. They appealed to the governor to try as much as possible to visit the three communities in ward six which Kingsley said he has transformed to a modern city to enable him see that nothing has been done for them. They advised the youth leader to stop deceiving himself and those around him, stressing that it would have been good he told the people the ones Governor has done for them, like the endorsement of their own brother, Hon. Barr. Victor E. Ebonka, as the Executive chairman of Ika North East Local Government Council and fencing of Owa-Ekei primary school  and used the medium to ask for more.

Speaking at the event the Executive Assistant to the member representing Ika North East constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Princewill Onuodafin, having taking time to listening to the feelings of the youths, advised them to be patient with the Governor that the Governor is an experienced and God fearing political father who has his people’s interest at heart. He noted that the Governor has promised to come to the aid of the good people of ward six, using the opportunity to encourage the residents to support the Governor’s re-election to enable him continue his good works for all Deltans when he returns to office come 2019.

Destiny Ehikwe-Fin Secretary, Comrade Ajabor Kenneth, Provost and Comrade Onyeisi Chukwuka-provost.
