It was on the 28 of August, 2018 that the Magistrate Court in Ute-Okpu permitted sues for divorce by my late sister so as to free her from Anthony’s torture. Ever since their separation, Anthony has made several threats that he was going kill Ruth. That fateful day, Ruth left for her farm leaving behind her three children, all boys, in the care of one of her elder sisters. It was when she did not return that we made our way to the farmland only to find her dead body with several cuts. Our late sister was killed”, he stated.

Mr. Okonta said Anthony aside his threats, became their suspect because they were informed that he visited their area that same day asking to know if there was any strange thing happening in their house. He noted that Anthony had finally fulfilled his threats to kill their sister and wondered why he could be so heartless to kill a woman who has given him three sons.

He said that he and his siblings are carrying a heavy heart, describing Ruth’s death as a big loss.

As at the time of filing this report, the suspect, Anthony Ndidi was yet to own up having hands in the death of his ex-wife, late Mrs. Ruth.
