Speaking during the exercise at Igbodo Palace, Dr. Mrs. Isioma Okobah thanked the Obi, HRM Obi Barr. Ikechukwu Osedume and the entire people of Igbodo Kingdom for their continuous support and adherence to the directives of the State Government. She added that the people of Igbodo have been complying with the directives of the State Government, saying that there has been a great improvement in maintaining the social distancing order, as well as following the health hygiene precautionary measures. These she said have helped a long way in curtailing the virus.

Dr. Mrs. Okobah also appreciated Gov.  Ifeanyi Okowa for demonstrating the acumen of good leadership by giving out stimulus packages to communities in the state, which she said Igbodo people also benefited from. In her words, “Individuals and groups should help in any little way they can to ease the hardship of the people occasioned by the COVID-19 lockdown directives. We all have roles to play. No matter how small it is, it is still important to do it.

“This is what inspired me, and through Dr. Isioma Okobah Foundation, I was able to raise some money to provide the bags of rice and face masks I am distributing today. This way, we can emphasise to members of the community the need for wearing the face masks, because when they wear them, they actually prevent themselves from passing the virus to the next person. This will help curb the spread of the coronavirus. So, when you step out of your house wear the face mask.  If you don’t have a face mask or won’t want to wear one, you can as well stay indoors; that way, you are not exposing yourself. Also, good health hygiene must be adhered to. Coronavirus is real and fatal, but it is not a death sentence. We can prevent the fatality of coronavirus by building up our own immunity: eating balance diets, consuming fruits, vegetables, fish and protein foods. We should also take Vitamin C, Oranges, Ginger. In addition, we should observe personal hygiene by washing our hands regularly with hand sanitizers or with soap and water, and avoid crowded places.”
